Miami Twp. Trustee Robert Matthews Jr. submitted his resignation, effective Tuesday.

Matthews, who was first elected to the Board of Trustees in 2013, is resigning to avoid any potential conflict of interest once he starts his new position on Wednesday with law firm Frost Brown Todd, according to the township.
