Miamisburg considering temporary medical marijuana ban

Miamisburg is moving to become the latest area community to place a temporary ban on medical marijuana.

The city is considering a six-month ban on “the issuance and processing of any permits allowing retail dispensaries, cultivators, or processors of marijuana” in the city, according to a proposed ordinance.

Last month Beavercreek City Council approved a similar measure while Troy has voted in favor of a 180-day moratorium on medical marijuana businesses in response to a new state law permitting these businesses beginning in September.

Troy is also considering a citywide ban on retail dispensaries, cultivators and processors of medical marijuana.

Miamisburg is set to discuss the issue Tuesday night.
