The suspect is described as a male believed to be between 30 to 40 years old. The suspect was wearing a black or charcoal colored jacket, or zip-up hoodie, black sweats and black hat.
The suspect was observed walking south through the alley behind United Foods convenience store after the shooting.

Police released the video Tuesday afternoon.
The suspect is described as a male believed to be between 30 to 40 years old. The suspect was wearing a black or charcoal colored jacket, or zip-up hoodie, black sweats and black hat.
UPDATE @ 1:40 p.m. (Feb. 9):
The man shot and killed during an attempted robbery outside United Foods on North Main Street has been identified.
Mark Anthony Williams, 58, died from his injuries at Miami Valley Hospital Thursday morning.
An autopsy on Williams is still ongoing.
UPDATE @ 9:15 a.m. (Feb. 8)
The victim of the shooting that happened Tuesday near the United Foods store on North Main Street remains a patient at Miami Valley Hospital.
The 58-year-old man was considered in critical condition at the scene of the shooting, according to police.
Hospital officials are not releasing any information on the victim’s condition.
EARLIER (Feb. 7)
Police in Dayton tell us a male was shot and is in critical condition after an attempted robbery in front of the United Foods store on North Main Street.
The victim had just exited the store after making a purchase and was approached by someone who tried to rob him.
The victim was shot and the shooter ran away. A K-9 unit was called in to try to track the shooter’s whereabouts.
According to dispatch records, at approximately 2:35 p.m. the person was reported shot near the store.
Police have put up crime scene tape around the north side of the parking lot at United Foods, 2141 N. Main St.
The store remains open.
