He was scheduled to go on trial Aug. 24 in Miami County Common Pleas Court. Instead, he appeared in court for an unscheduled hearing and made the guilty pleas before Judge Jeannine Pratt.
Prosecutors agreed to recommend Boyea receive a 10-year sentence. He could receive up to 33 years in prison and be fined up to $60,000.
He was charged in the Feb. 6 stabbing of a 33-year- old Troy woman and a 30-year-old man who were staying at a local motel. They told police someone knocked on the door, then forced his way in and stabbed both of them.
Both suffered serious injuries and were taken to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight.
Troy police said all three worked at the Troy Burger King and that the woman had ended a relationship with Boyea.
Pratt ordered a presentence investigation. Boyea remains jailed with bail set at $500,000.
