In just the past two weeks, Oakwood officers have issued 27 moving citations on Shroyer Road. In June, officers issued 25 in total.
Twenty-seven is also tied for the highest number of monthly moving citations issued by Oakwood police this year, matching February’s mark.
The speed limit along a one-mile stretch of Shroyer was reduced to 25 mph two weeks ago.

Originally, the speed limit on Shroyer was 35 mph. Construction on the mile-long stretch of Shroyer for a lane reduction project caused the city to reduce the speed limit and declare the roadway a construction zone, doubling the fines for anyone caught speeding.
Once construction is complete around fall, Shroyer road will have a completely different look, reducing the total number of car lanes from four to two, with protected left turn lanes installed for safety.
