"One of the major things I have heard from our citizens countless times was that our water rates are very hard on them," said Mayor Mary A. McDonald.

"After discussing with our staff, we came up with a plan that would help those citizens out and City Council voted unanimously to approve it."

Only citizens who obtain their water service from the city of Trotwood will receive a discount.  Additionally, only residents "who have currently paid all of their water bills, and who are eligible for the State of Ohio Homestead Exemption," will receive the discount, according a Trotwood council release.
