Vacant Oakwood building could be getting a new tenant

Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley is discussing opening a store in Oakwood, according to city and Goodwill officials.

Goodwill retail donations manager Kim Bramlage confirmed there have been “preliminary” discussions between Goodwill and the property owner, but that no additional information on the project was available at this time.

Assistant City Manager Jay Weiskircher also confirmed the ongoing “discussions” between Goodwill and the property owner at 2322 Far Hills Ave.

“I know they are having discussions with the building owner, I’m not sure that they’ve come to an agreement on the terms of a lease agreement,” he said.

The property owner has not returned calls seeking comment.

Complete Petmark occupied the building until 2011, when Petco bought the Petmart chain. Petco left last November.

This wouldn't be the only building on Far Hills Avenue seeing change. On Wednesday, Kettering Health Network announced their purchase of the three-story office building at 2600 Far Hills Ave.

Goodwill currently has 29 stores and donation sites across the region and in 2014, completed construction on a new $14 million headquarters at 660 S. Main St.
