Vandalia plant expansion expected to create 35 high-paying jobs

A potential project in Vandalia, codenamed “Project Bullseye,” received approval for a $70,000 Montgomery County Economic Development/Government Equity (ED/GE) grant.

The project proposal is a 20,000 square foot expansion at an existing advanced manufacturing company in Vandalia that could create additional engineering jobs.

“Looking at the proposed project as a whole, they’re considering a total investment of roughly $40 million,” said Vandalia Assistant City Manager Greg Shackleford. “The company would be committing to 35 new full-time positions with an average annual salary of $80,000.”

The project was one of eight approved for grants by the ED/GE Advisory Committee.
