West Liberty shooting victim continues to improve

The father of West Liberty-Salem High School shooting victim Logan Cole released a video this week to show his son’s progress.



The shooting occurred on Jan. 20. Deputies have alleged 17-year-old Ely Serna brought a shotgun hidden in a backpack into the school and shot 16-year-old Logan Cole twice in his chest and side.

Cole was transported to a Columbus hospital and underwent heart surgery.

A second student, Adam Schultz, was also struck by a pellet, but he received minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.

The video shows Cole before and after both surgeries and his current health. Cole’s family also thanked everyone that reached out to them during their time in need.

Logan Cole was released from the hospital over the weekend.
