Partially clothed Middletown man selling candy arrested

A Middletown man was charged with public indecency, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after he allegedly was found partially clothed, intoxicated and attempting to sell candy to people.

Police were dispatched to the 700 block of 17th Avenue on Tuesday night on a report that Michael Morgan, 37, of Middletown, was naked and offering people candy.

Morgan was found at the intersection of 17th and Minnesota Avenue, and police have almost daily contact with him due to his intoxicated behavior or thefts, according to the police report.

Morgan was found stumbling and trying to keep his pants up, the report said. He smelled of alcohol, urine and feces, police said.

Neighbors told police that Morgan was masturbating in the back yard, staring at individuals and was acting “odd,” the report said. He then defecated on a chair at the rear of a home on 17th Avenue and was trying to sell candy to people, the report said.

Morgan was placed in the back of the police cruiser. He had about 20 packs of candy on him, police said.
