State cuts hurt local communities

Brookville has become the latest community to voice concerns about state budget cuts hurting local programs.

In Brookville’s case, the city wants to replace its oldest fire station, but state funding reductions mean the city must find other ways to raise the money, by making changes to the city income tax. The proposal would have some people pay more if they live in the city but work outside Brookville.

An opposition group has launched a Facebook page to voice their concerns about the move.

The I-Team is investigating how the cuts are impacting not only Brookville but also other communities around the Miami Valley.
