Trump speaks to U.N. saying some portions of world are ‘going to hell’

STORYLINE:

President Donald Trump delivered his first address to the United Nations General Assembly. In a more than 40 minute speech, the President delivered some tough talk for North Korea and Iran.

President Trump said major portions of the world are in conflict and some are "going to hell."

He said the United Nations must reform to achieve results and prosperity.

President Trump criticized the United Nations during his campaign for president but in his speech on Tuesday said the U.N. should unite to confront global threats.

President Donald Trump is telling the United Nations General Assembly that he will "always put America first" and the U.S. can no longer be taken advantage of in its dealings around the globe.

Trump says he will "defend America's interests above all else." He says the U.S. will "forever be a great friend to the world," including its allies, but the U.S. can no longer be taken advantage of and get nothing in return.

Trump says: "The United States will forever be a great friend to the world." But he's warning that his country must not be taken advantage of.

President Donald Trump says the United States will have no choice but to "totally destroy" North Korea if the U.S. is forced to defend itself or its allies against the North's aggression.

In his first address to the U.N. General Assembly, Trump says the North Korean government is a "depraved regime."  The president referred to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as "rocket man."
