Ben Sutherly

Reporter

I grew up on a Miami County dairy farm owned and operated by my father and his three brothers. I graduated from Miami East High School in 1994, and from Denison University in 1998. I joined the Dayton Daily News in June 1999, and worked for seven years in our newspaper's Troy bureau. During that time, I covered agricultural and rural topics throughout the region, as well as Troy city government and Miami County police and business. Since 2006, I have worked at our newspaper's Dayton headquarters. In late 2008, health care became my primary beat. My interests include antiques and restoring an early 1850s farmhouse in Elizabeth Township, Miami County, in which my grandfather grew up. I also am an active member of nearby Cove Spring Church.
