Alter (26-2) plays Ottawa-Glandorf (27-0) in a girls D-II state semifinal at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ohio State University’s Schottenstein Center in Columbus.

Holderman, a former player at Wright State, guided Tipp to a 23-4 overall season, its first in the Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division after leaving the Central Buckeye Conference. The Red Devils lost 50-41 to Alter in a D-II regional semifinal.

Holderman shared the honor with Ben Ackley of Miami Trace.

Kenton Ridge senior Jamari McDavid (26.6) was named to the D-II second team as was Benjamin Logan junior Nikki Current (21.1).

Versailles junior Kami McEldowney (13.6) was selected to the D-III second team. Versailles (25-3) will play Sardinia Eastern (26-1) in the D-III state semifinals at the Schott at 3 p.m. Friday.

Chosen to the D-III third team were senior Whitney Will of Fort Recovery (14.5) and Arcanum senior Stevie Johnting (16.5).

Senior Jeselle Thomas of Norwalk (24.1 points) was the D-II player of the year. The D-III co-players of the year were Naz Hilmon (15.8) of Gates Mills Gilmour Academy and Baltimore Liberty Union’s Gabby Burris (24.2). The D-III coach of the year was Kevin Pickerill of Winchester Eastern.

The All-Ohio teams are based on district teams that are determined by various media panels and forwarded to the Associated Press. The girls D-I All-Ohio teams were announced on Monday and the girls D-I and Ms. Basketball will be released on Wednesday.
