The Dayton Flyers leave Wednesday afternoon for Pittsburgh, where they hope to spend four nights. The goal is to play three games at PPG Paints Arena, win the Atlantic 10 championship Sunday, cut down the nets and fly home in time to watch the NCAA tournament selection show on CBS.

The tournament starts Wednesday with two games between the bottom four seeds. No. 1 seed UD plays in the quarterfinals at noon Friday against No. 8 seed La Salle or No. 9 seed Davidson.

On Wednesday, Dayton Flyers coach Archie Miller spoke with Larry Hansgen on Miami Valley’s Morning News on AM 1290 and News 95.7 WHIO.

On all four seniors winning Atlantic 10 awards Tuesday: "I think all those guys were worthy. With team success comes individual accolades. I don't know if a team has been able to win this conference since we've been here by this far of a margin. (Dayton was) two games ahead going into the last game. Clearly the coaches in our league recognize that our team had a great year and had some individuals recognized all across the board. I was really happy with our seniors. I was really happy with (Sixth Man of the Year) Kyle Davis. He's probably the unsung guy who goes under the radar, but he's as important as any of them. I'm proud of what we've been able to accomplish and hopefully we have more to go.

On moving ahead after loss Saturday to George Washington: "Resetting the batteries after the last regular-season game and getting ready to head to Pittsburgh, I think our guys are excited to play. They know you're sort of in elimination mode from this point forward. You have to be desperate at this time of year if you want to play. You have to be together, and you have to be desperate. For us, we have to take our urgency to a whole new level now. It's sort of like 0-0 and nothing matters. We're going to try to go up to Pittsburgh and win the first one, and that's the only thing you can really concentrate on. I definitely think this is a group that wants to continue to play. They're excited to be in March.

On his dad's reaction to Archie and his brother Sean, the head coach at Arizona, both winning coach of the year awards: "I think he's probably taken a little bit of credit for what's going on here of late. It all started with him. He's got plenty of coach of the year awards on his shelf. Sean had a terrific year with a lot of adversity out there as well. They dealt with a lot of injuries. They had a fantastic year with a lot of young guys. I think they're a team that can go deep in March. Obviously, our year was a story from the beginning that had a lot of guys involved. Team of the year usually goes to the coach of the year. At some level, the team and his staff had to help along the way as well."
