Indiana coverage: ‘This guy’s going to win huge at Indiana’

Columnist Gregg Doyel of the Indianapolis Star led off his opinions on Archie Miller on Saturday with this line, "This guy's going to win huge at Indiana."

That was a feeling shared by a good number of college basketball media members nationwide on Saturday after it was announced Miller would leave Dayton to become the head basketball coach at Indiana.

From Doyel:

You think I'm kidding here? I'm not. The only reason I'm not calling Archie Miller a home run hire is because that would insult the kind of tape-measure shot Fred Glass just launched. This home run is going to break windows all over the Big Ten.

Other reaction to the hire was just as positive:

Bob Kravitz, who was the longtime sports columnist at the Indianapolis Star before moving to WTHR TV (where he broke the Deflategate scandal), talked to Thad Matta about Miller and whether he can handle the expectations at Indiana. Kravitz also spoke to Butler coach Chris Holtmann about Miller, but his money quote was from Ohio State’s Matta.

"... as far as dealing with the stuff that comes with the Indiana job, he's going to take the approach of `You can take your Internet and all your whatever and you can shove it up you're a** and I'm going to do my job. I'm here to win games,''' Matta told Kravitz.
