Browns Terrelle Pryor opens up about friendship with Arnold Palmer

Cleveland Browns wide receiver and former Ohio State Buckeye Terrelle Pryor grew up 15 miles from the hometown of Arnold Palmer. Pryor was from Jeannette, while Palmer was from Latrobe - both towns are on the southeastern outskirts of the Pittsburgh area.

Pryor - who had the best day of his professional career Sunday against the Miami Dolphins - spoke shortly about Palmer in a video interview on ESPN, where a glum Pryor talked about his time with golf's "KING."

Pryor told ESPN: "I spent some time with him at his house and at the awesome gold course he had in his backyard. I had friends who were friends of his. He helped me along the way from high school to college."

"I was real good friends with him," Pryor said. "It's sad to see the loss of another great. It seems like we're a losing a lot of those people."

Palmer died Sunday at the age of 87 in Pittsburgh due to complications from heart problems. He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal  - the highest honor a U.S. civilian can earn - and was the face of professional golf for decades.

Pryor had 144 receiving yards, 35 passing yards and rushed for 21 yards in Cleveland's overtime loss to Miami on Sunday. The last NFL player to have those numbers in three separate categories was Frank Gifford in 1959.
