Former Dayton Flyers guard Vee Sanford will play in the top basketball league in France next season.

Sanford, a Lexington, Ky., native who hit the winning shot against Ohio State in the 2014 NCAA tournament, announced Monday he has signed with the Antibes Sharks in the Pro-A League. Antibes is located on the coast in southeast France, between Cannes and Nice.

Sanford started his pro career in Iceland in 2014. He played 20 games in Colombia in 2015. Last year, he started the season in Germany’s second division with s.Oliver Würzburg and then was promoted to the top division. He played against former teammate Dyshawn Pierre in one game.

Sanford, Pierre and another former Flyer, Devin Oliver, will play on the same team, the Broad Street Brawlers, in the west region of The Basketball Tournament next month. Sanford was on UD’s campus earlier this month helping with basketball camps.
