Former Alter High School quarterback Malik Zaire confirmed he is close to a final decision on his transfer from Notre Dame.

Although he has already graduated, the former Knight told this news organization he plans to take part in commencement ceremonies in South Bend this weekend.

As for his next school, Zaire said, “Just waiting for some things to finalize.”

The Austin American-Statesman reported earlier this week Texas is a finalist for Zaire, but the coaching staff there is "not optimistic."

Zaire previously has been connected to the Longhorns, Wisconsin, Florida and Harvard via a report from Rivals.com.
