Otten first Carroll football coach

A couple of recent stories about Carroll football failed to credit Barney Otten as the first Patriots coach (1961-66). Otten also was the head coach at Stebbins and Coldwater and several other schools.

Otten’s son, Chip, replaced John Reed at Coldwater this past season.

Carroll recently named Bob Levy as its head coach following the retirement of Steve Bartlett.
