Signing Day: Miamisburg’s Cody Lamb signs with Cincinnati

At 17 years old, Cody Lamb is the youngest player on the Cincinnati Bearcats football roster. The former Miamisburg offensive lineman won’t celebrate his 18th birthday until later this month.

His coaches and teammates at UC call him the “baby lamb.”

But Lamb is growing up quickly after enrolling early and starting classes down on the campus in Clifton last month.

“I just have to go in the weight room and work as hard as I can,” he said. “I’ve got a lot of work to do but I’m hoping to get on the field real soon.”

Lamb was one of four Vikings to sign national letters of intent to play football Wednesday morning. He joins a Bearcats program that is still getting used to new head coach Luke Fickell and his staff.

“The intensity level has changed a lot since the new staff came in,” Lamb said. “I was definitely a little concerned at first, but I put my faith in God and let him lead the path for me.”
