Former Dayton mayor gets national Democratic Party leadership post

Former Dayton Mayor Rhine McLin has been chosen as the Midwest Vice Chair of the Association of State Democratic Chairs during the Democratic National Committee’s summer meeting in Minneapolis.

McLin currently serves as vice chair of the Ohio Democratic Party.

“I’m looking forward to working with Democratic vice chairs from across the country in this new leadership role,” said McLin “We recognize the importance of Ohio, and we take our role very seriously. Ohio Democrats helped to win the White House for President Obama twice, and we will play a critical role in 2016."

Prior to being election Dayton mayor in 2001, McLin served in the Ohio House and Senate. She lost her re-election bid for mayor in 2009 to Gary Leitzell.
