Allcare identifies local site for dental records, unfinished work

Allcare Dental & Dentures has identified a local dental office to which it says it is transferring patient records and unfinished dental work.

The chain of dental services storefronts closed at the end of 2010.

In a recent posting on a company Web site — allcareinfo.com — patients of its former Miami Twp. location are being pointed to Dayton Dental & Orthodontics, which is at Sears in the Dayton Mall.

The site again refers former Allcare patients to local dentists or emergency rooms if they are experiencing a dental emergency “at your cost.”

Williamsville, N.Y.-based Allcare operated about 40 offices in several states before it shut down.

The company is also giving former patients a P.O. box at which to request records if they live in areas where they have not yet been referred to other local dentists.

The company instructs former patients to write to P.O. Box 429, Clarence, N.Y. 14031.

This month, a Cleveland law firm, Spangenberg Shibley & Liber LLP, said it is pursuing a class-action lawsuit on behalf of former patients of Allcare.
