Beavercreek Shopping Center purchased

A Phoenix real estate investment firm last month took ownership of the Beavercreek Shopping Center — home to Toys “R” Us, Michael’s, LA Fitness and other big sites.

Cole MT Beavercreek OH LLC — a subsidiary of Cole Capital — bought the 2500 N. Fairfield Road shopping center for $34.5 million on Nov. 13, according to Greene County property records. A Cole spokesman confirmed the acquisition and said the company may comment further later.

Manhattan-based commercial real estate services firm Cohen Real Estate Services began marketing the 280,000-square-foot retail property in June.

At the time, the president of Cohen told the Dayton Daily News that no buyer had been immediately identified but the property’s location — near the 1.1-million-square-foot Mall at Fairfield Commons and located off busy Fairfield Road — made the property an attractive investment.

Built in 1995 and redeveloped at least once since then, Beavercreek Shopping Center is on a 30-acre expanse and includes a 1,225-space parking lot.
