Cables To Go announces 'Multi-Format' upgrade

Cables To Go, a Dayton-based manufacturer and distributor of computer cables and electronic connectivity products, has announced an upgrade to its RapidRun product line.

RapidRun Multi-Format features enhanced engineering that includes individually shielded pairs and an isolated ground for audio lines. Company officials said the upgrades help meet the demand for applications typically found in classrooms, conference rooms or other, similar commercial environments.

Officials said RapidRun Multi-Format provides crisp video and high-fidelity audio in applications where content is delivered to a single display from multiple source devices, such as computers and DVD players, that utilize various signal outputs.

“As equipment transitions from analog to digital input/outputs, this line and future enhancements also provide a convenient upgrade path to help plan for changes being brought about by the ‘analog sunset,’ ” said Garry Dukes, director of product development for Lastar, parent company of Cables To Go.

The “analog sunset,” the audio-visual industry’s current trend of eliminating analog signals from devices, is expected to be completed in 2014.
