DHL Supply Chain to close Englewood site, impacting 85 employees

DHL Supply Chain will close its Englewood location later this year, impacting 85 workers at the site.

The company sent a WARN notice to the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services, announcing they plan to close a DHL Supply Chain facility located at 71 Lau Parkway in Englewood. The location is expected to close on Sept. 18, according to the letter. Impacted employees include forklift operators, managers, supervisors and group leads.

DHL’s Supply Chain division works as a third-party logistics provider at that site, where they provide warehousing and distribution center services for a customer at the Englewood facility. The current contract between DHL and that customer is expiring, according to a company spokeswoman.

The spokeswoman said DHL Supply Chain hopes to place impacted employees at other Dayton-area sites operated by the DHL Supply Chain. DHL Supply Chain employs 847 people in the Dayton region, including the 85 associates at the affected site in Englewood.
