Wittenberg University and Community Mercy Health Partners are scheduled to meet this afternoon to discuss new academic and medical affiliations between the entities.

Representatives of both organizations are expected to explain details of the partnership, which haven’t been released yet.

Both entities are major employers in Springfield, with Community Mercy the biggest local employer.

CMHP operates the Springfield Regional Medical Center and Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana. It’s part of Mercy Health, the largest health system in Ohio and fourth-largest employer in the state.
