Dayton International Airport will launch its exclusive taxi service on Saturday, offering service by Dayton Express Cab.

Dayton Express, a locally owned company, was chosen as the single taxi provider after the city of Dayton approved an agreement in May that gives just one company the right to operate taxi service at the airport. As part of its three-year contract, Dayton Express’ fleet of cabs must be no more than 3 years old, have GPS systems, and offer backseat credit card payment options.

The taxi fleet will now have a uniform look, with white vehicles displaying the Dayton International Airport logo and the words “Official Taxi Service/Provided by Dayton Express Cab.”

The service also has to provide ADA-accessible vehicle within 15 minutes of a request, according to the city.

“The airport and our staff value all our patrons,” said Terrence Slaybaugh, aviation director of Dayton International Airport. “Providing the best customer service along with the most convenient, affordable and safest ground transportation to and from the airport is our continued priority. Having a single taxi provider at the airport is a major step in achieving and maintaining this commitment.”
