Initially, the office will employ 17 people, but the company plans to have 36 employees there by the end of 2012, King said.
TQL arranges shipping of products for thousands of customers across North America, the company said in an announcement Tuesday. It has a network of more than 58,000 carriers, and the Centerville location will be its 10th satellite office, the company said.
“This new team is eager to establish the TQL footprint in Dayton,” Kerry Byrne, the firm’s executive vice president, said in a statement. “We are excited about the opportunities Dayton holds for TQL, both in terms of business expansion and local talent.”
The company said it expects to reach $1 billion in sales this year. Founded in 1997, the company said it is the nation’s fourth largest freight brokerage firm with 1,500 employees in eight states.
