As many as 15 new jobs, including medical assistants and nurses aids, could be created as a result of the expansion. The project reflects a growing demand for services at the health center owned by Kettering’s Grandview Medical Center in west Dayton, officials said.
“There is definitely a need for primary care physicians in Englewood and the surrounding communities,” said Jeff Fuhrer, who manages Kettering’s practice at the health center. “There’s an increased demand for services, and this will be a great place to start, for the north area to have one of the largest primary care offices in the area.”
Kettering will break ground on new construction Tuesday, and the project is expected to be completed by this summer.
The hospital system has been expanding its medical facilities at a rapid pace. Earlier this month, Kettering celebrated the completion of about $19 million in new construction at two of its leading hospitals — the Indu & Raj Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek and Sycamore Medical Center in Miamisburg.
