“It’s a big investment,” Weber said. “They will be rehabbing substantial portions of their current facility, and building another facility next to it.”
The new building will be 8,600 square feet, and will be located adjacent to CODE’s office located near Interstate 75 at 355 W. Monument Ave.
While CODE Credit Union officials could not be reached for comment, Amy Walbridge, a member of the city’s economic development department, said that construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in July.
Walbridge said she has been working with CODE Credit Union CEO Scott Rutherford for “a couple of years, trying to find the right location for CODE’s expansion.”
“Scott and the Credit Union Board went through a thoughtful process to make sure the expansion meets long term needs of CODE and its members,” Walbridge said.
CODE Credit Union has three locations in the Dayton area. Along with the building on Monument, it has sites in Englewood and Mad River Station near the Dayton Mall.
