Miami Twp. restaurant closed since 2009 to reopen under new ownership, concept

MIAMI TWP., Montgomery County — The former Max & Erma’s at 8901 Kingsridge Drive behind the Dayton Mall — which has been vacant since 2009 — will reopen this summer as Hazel Grill & Tavern, according to the co-owner of the new restaurant.

Renovations are underway at the new restaurant, which will seat about 200 and will employ 35 to 50, according to Ali Bas of Miami Twp., who will oversee Hazel Grill & Tavern with business partner Rusan Kurt, also of Miami Twp. The projected opening date is July 1, Bas said.

The restaurant will serve Italian and American food. The menu includes entrees such as Chicken Alfredo, Penne with Bolognese sauce, Country Fried Steak, Smothered Pork Chops and Crab Cakes. The menu also includes wraps, burgers, salads and sandwiches.

“We will cook everything fresh here in the restaurant,” Bas said.

The restaurant’s owners plan to open other restaurants in the Dayton area, Bas said.
