NCR opens ATM production plant in Brazil

DAYTON — NCR Corp. said it opened a new manufacturing plant on Wednesday, Nov. 11, in Brazil, a key export market for the company, to build self-service automated teller machines there.

The plant in Manaus is to support the ATM demand in Brazil, the Caribbean basin and Latin America, NCR said. The company had announced its plans to open the plant only three months ago.

The operation will create about 250 new jobs in the Brazilian city, NCR said.

In June, NCR announced plans to shut down its world headquarters complex in Dayton and relocate the headquarters and nearly 1,300 jobs to an Atlanta suburb, costing Dayton its last Fortune 500 company. NCR has been in Dayton for 125 years.
