Regional firms named to $138 million in defense projects

A Wilmington company is among 11 firms named to a $126 million military transportation contract, according to the Department of Defense.

Air Transport International Inc., based at Wilmington Air Park, is among the companies awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed-price contract with an estimated value of $126,105,964, the DoD said.

Companies in Parsippany, N.J., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Reston, Va., and elsewhere are also part of the contract award.

The contract provides international commercial multimodal transportation service to the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command. Work will be performed worldwide at various locations from July 2019 to June 30, 2021.

The U.S. Transportation Command, Directorate of Acquisition, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., is the contracting activity.

In Mason, L-3 Communications Cincinnati Electronics Corp. has been awarded a maximum $12,500,040 firm-fixed-price contract for production of equipment for search, detection, navigation, guidance, airborne radar, night vision and other uses.

This is a one-year contract, with work to be performed in Ohio and Pennsylvania, with an expected May 31, 2021 performance completion date.

The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation in Redstone Arsenal, Ala.
