Ahoy mates! Only 10 days are left to get whisked away to Neverland, where childhood lasts forever.

The “Peter Pan” run at LaComedia is still going strong, with one of the largest set designs ever attempted at the dinner theatre. Catch the high-flying adventure as the Darling children are swept up in Peter Pan’s battle with the evil Captain Hook.

“It’s been a very good production, and there are still plenty of seats available,” said LaComedia marketing director Justin Walton. “It’s definitely a show that families want to see, but it’s also a great show for couples.”

Sir James M. Barrie left the copyright of Peter Pan to a London children’s hospital in 1904. His gift continues to delight audiences over a century later. Corinne Proctor plays Peter Pan, and Michael Karraker is Captain Hook. One of the world’s most celebrated musicals, this production includes show-stopping tunes like “Never Never Land,” “I Won’t Grow Up” and “I’m Flying.”

“We had to teach the actors and the crew how to fly over the crowd, so it’s a pretty technically-advanced show for us,” said Walton. “The flying effects in the show are really great. I think people are surprised with what we can do on this little stage.”

According to Walton, the dinner-theater usually schedules a family-oriented production over the summer. The productions are typically in two acts, but this Peter Pan musical has three.

“The Captain Hook and Peter Pan characters are really getting good reviews,” said Walton. “Tinkerbell is a pulsating light that moves around the stage, and it’s really great the way those characters interact with her.”

And since it is a dinner theater, the gourmet buffet features chef-carved meats, beer-batter fish and sweet potato souffle.
