BBQ restaurant offers $10 off a $20 tab

Smokey Bones, which operates a restaurant at 6744 Miller Lane in Butler Twp., is offering a coupon available on its Facebook page that is good for $10 off any $20 tab, through Sunday, July 21.

The promotion is in part a response to the heat wave gripping much of the U.S., and offers diners “a way to stay out of the hot kitchen,” according to a spokeswoman for Smokey Bones.

Only one coupon can be used per party per visit, and the discount excludes alcohol.

The Orlando-based restaurant chain also operates a restaurant in West Chester and has several other Cincinnati-area locations. Smokey Bones CEO Chris Artinian — who worked his way up the ranks to become CEO of Morton’s the Steakhouse chain before taking the helm at Smokey Bones in 2012 — said during a visit to Dayton earlier this year that the Dayton and Cincinnati market has been a strong performer for the restaurant chain, and he is looking to expand in southwest Ohio and elsewhere in the country.

Smokey Bones operates 65 locations in 17 states. The chain is owned by an affiliate of Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sun Capital Partners, whose portfolio of restaurants includes Boston Market, Friendly’s, Fazoli’s, Bar Louie and other restaurant brands.
