LIBERTY TWP. — Mexican food lovers are likely familiar with El Rancho Grande, which serves traditional cuisine for both lunch and dinner. The newest location on Cincinnati-Dayton Road opened about a month ago, making it the fourth site in Butler County.
The Liberty location is the ninth of the chain restaurant in the Cincinnati and Dayton area, said Gary Rodriguez, president of operations.
Founded in Sharonville in 1998, El Rancho Grande uses “fresh” ingredients and home-style recipes from Guadalajara. The Liberty site gives one the feeling of being at the beach with a Tiki style bar front and plenty of indoor and patio seating. The menu is the same as the other locations with daily lunch specials featuring taco, burrito, chimichanga and enchilada combos. Special lunch choices include the Fiesta Burrito stuffed with beef or chicken and scrambled eggs, black beans, lettuce and sour cream. The Grilled Tilapia is also a customer favorite and is served with tortillas, rice and guacamole salad.
El Rancho Grande’s dinner menu is long and varied, offering entrees of seafood, steak, chicken and traditional Mexican favorites. Carnitas (fried pork tips) are served with rice, and the Lobster Quesadilla Rellena, is a flour tortilla stuffed with lobster and cheese and served with rice, lettuce, guacamole and sour cream on the side. The A La Carte menu features tacos, burritos, chalupas, tostadas, enchiladas and tamales and is available throughout the day, and kids under 12 can choose from their own menu filled with mini-Mexican dishes as well as chicken tenders, hamburgers, corned dogs and grilled cheese. Desserts include Churros (fried pastry dough filled with fruit and covered with cinnamon and sugar), Sopapilla (deep fried tortillas topped with honey, cinnamon and sugar) and Flan (home made vanilla Mexican style custard). The vegetarian menu is small, but has bean burritos, mushroom quesadillas and vegetarian fajitas made with bell peppers, onions, zucchini, tomatoes and mushrooms.
