A representative from Buckeye Harley Davidson, who served as one of the event’s sponsors, said this year’s concert, presented by WXEG-FM (103.9) and Live Nation, was canceled due to lack of ticket sales. Calls to Clear Channel Communication, which owns WXEG-FM (103.9), were not returned.
A representative from both Live Nation, and the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, where the event is held annually, declined to comment.

The Facebook event page said, “PLEASE NOTE: If you previously purchased a ticket to the Montgomery County Fairground concert at Bogart’s or Hara Arena box office you can exchange your ticket at point of purchase beginning Wednesday, August 29 at 10 a.m. while supplies last.”

X-Fest typically features regional bands who compete in the annual “Battle for X-Fest” for the opportunity to perform. Julia Norris, owner of McGuffy’s House of Rock in Dayton, the contest’s venue in the past, said “Battle for X-Fest” did not take place this year.
X-Fest typically brings in as many as 20,000 fans annually for one day to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds.
Several people have posted comments on WXEG-FM (103.9)’s Facebook page, inquiring about the potential event cancellation.
