The national press is taking notice of the musical comedy being made right here in the Dayton area.

"Newsweek" magazine  just published an article featuring Joel and Stephen Levinson, Dayton's own Levinson Brothers.

The Dayton natives recently filmed their movie "Boy Band: The (Heart)throb Story” in Dayton, Kettering and Yellow Springs.

"The film industry might be a behemoth of explosive big-budget blockbusters, but as the Levinsons prove, there's still a way for filmmakers with unique voices to make an impact. It doesn't even require a mascot costume."

Co-written by the brothers, the film -- which is the brothers' first full-length feature -- will cost about $125,000.

Nearly $20,000 was raised by a Kickstarter campaign.

We dropped by the set at Refraze Recording Studio in Kettering for a behind-the-scenes look at the movie as it is being made.
