What is Rob Lowe up to?— a question you might often be wondering. Okay, maybe not.

But just in case you were, it was just reported that Dayton’s favorite son has recently survived a close encounter with Bigfoot himself -- or something like it.

Born in Charlottesville, Virginia but spending his childhood right here in the Gem City, Lowe is a familiar name to Daytonians.

The run-in happened in the Ozark Mountains while filming his new A&E series, The Lowe Files, which follows Lowe and his two sons on their quest for mythological evidence.

"I'm fully aware that I sound like a crazy, Hollywood kook right now," Lowe said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

The incident occurred during the filming of the series’ finale, when the men were approached by what Lowe believes was a “wood ape,” or the Ozark’s version of Sasquatch of Bigfoot.

Because the show has not yet aired, Lowe did not want to give too many details about what went down. We do know, though, that he was "lying on the ground" and "thought he was going to be killed," according to Entertainment Weekly.

Could Lowe be teasing us with an exaggerated encounter to get us hyped for his new series? We’re not sure. But we are here to confirm that Lowe is okay.
