Spoken word, improv, art party to celebrate downtown show’s 10th anniversary

Downtown Dayton arts groups are teaming up to razzle and dazzle fans 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Black Box Improv Theater, 518 E. Third St. in downtown Dayton.

"What's Your Razzle Dazzle" presented by Oral Funk Poetry Productions and The Human Race Theatre Company and Black Box will celebrate the tenth season of the The Signature: A Poetic Medley Show.

“This is a real landmark for us,” Oral Funk Poetry Productions co-founder Lucy “Sierra Leone” Owens  of  said of the celebration. “It’s amazing that in this region, and now beyond, we’ve been able to create and sustain a professional showcase of urban creative arts. That is not an easy accomplishment, but it has been so rewarding, and this event is a time to breathe together, give thanks, show love, and be one in the joy of artistic freedom.”

Signature: A Poetic Medley Show is a bi-monthly performing and visual arts showcase housed at the Loft Theatre .

It is a partnership between Humane Race and Oral Funk Poetry, a part of  Owens’  Tripple Croxx Entertainment and Management.

The show features professional national and regional talent.

The What’s Your Razzle Dazzle  party will showcase visual and performing arts, including spoken word, improv, and atmospheric music.

Black Box founder Justin Howard, Owens and Black Box Theatre Improv Performers will be featured.

Visual artist Harry Sanchez will creating “a live interactive experience.”

Owens will make a special announcement about her future and the future of her brands during the event.
