In hard times, Oregon District businesses have proven their love for each other.

Today, the OD is coming together to help out Blake Norman, an employee at both Toxic Brew Co. and Hole in the Wall, and a well-known personality in the neighborhood. Norman’s mother recently underwent a life-changing brain surgery. His mother is now in recovery, however, the costs of treatment and post-procedure care is weighing heavily on the family.

"Blake is nothing less than amazing," says friend and organizer Sabrina Cox. "Anytime anyone needs anything, whether it’s help moving or help raising money for a cause, Blake is always there with a smile on his face."

The OD’s response to Norman’s family’s time of need is an event called “Blakey’s Mom Has Got it Going On” to raise money for Blake’s mom and her care. Here is how to join in and help:

-Stop by Toxic Brew Co. after 5 p.m., and a portion of all sales of Toxic beer will be donated. 431 E. 5th St., Dayton
