10 things to do this week

Here's 10 things to do this week in and around the Dayton area:

1. YELLOW SPRINGS STREET FAIR

Each spring and fall, the main thoroughfares in Yellow Springs are blocked off for one of the area's biggest outdoor parties: Yellow Springs Street Fair and Music & Beer Festival. The latest installment, which runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 11, features more than 250 vendors and 65 shops and restaurants.

The Music & Beer Festival, which runs from noon to 7 p.m., features performances by Crazy Joe & the Mad River Outlaws, Speaking Suns, Jonny Dreads & the Mystik, Gin-Soaked Angels and others.

2. THE MONKEES

The rock group the Monkees was created for a television series in the 1960s to capitalize on the popularity of the Beatles. The Monkees are marking their 50th anniversary with a new album and a tour, which pulls into Rose Music Center, 6800 Executive Blvd., Huber Heights, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 14. Cost: $23.50-$52. Despite his acting success, Coulier never stopped doing stand-up comedy.
