If you feel like you work “Eight Days a Week” or you’ve had “A Hard Day’s Night,” it might be the perfect time to “Come Together” for yoga.

Breakfast with the Beatles has long been a WTUE Sunday morning mainstay — even sparking a series of events at the Fraze Pavilion — and, now, Day Yoga Studio is celebrating the Fab Four with a special four-week Yoga with the Beatles series. The series begins at 8 a.m. on Sept. 8 and runs weekly through Sept. 29 at the Brown Street studio.

Instructor Luna Cuzzo’s love of the Beatles runs deep — her youngest son’s middle name is Harrison, named after George Harrison.

“My dad is a musician, so I grew up with great music, classic music,” Cuzzo said. “I was raised on vinyl.”

The series is designed to be beginner friendly, but also have plenty to offer experienced yogis.

“I like to describe it as accessible for all levels,” Cuzzo said. “In the classes I teach, people can move and stretch and alter the practice to fit their specific needs.”

Each week will focus on a different chakra. Chakras — there are seven in all — are centers of energy that help provide balance to the mind, body and spirit.

“We will briefly describe and connect ourselves with the chakra of that week, flow to Beatles music connected with that chakra, and close with relaxation,” Cuzzo said.

Week one will focus on the sacral chakra with the theme of joy and passion, followed by the solar plexus in week two with a theme of change and courage. The third week will concentrate on the heart chakra with music focusing on love and the series will wrap up with the crown chakra and the theme of peace and self-awareness.

The mindfulness of yoga and the beat of the Beatles seemed like a perfect fit to Cuzzo.

“I’ve never committed this much to a specific artist or group, but I think I will be able to connect it in a way that it flows well,” she said. “I’m already prepared to apologize to the class for singing too much,” she added, smiling.

Day Yoga Studio encourages its instructors, which number more than 50, to create classes and workshops that they are passionate about.

“We have so many teachers, we like to let them come up with their own ideas for classes,” manager and instructor Emilie Jones said. “It gives our students new and interesting experiences.”
