Coronavirus: Warren County jumps to 72 cases, 10 hospitalized, 0 fatal

Warren County added 19 confirmed COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the total so far reported to 72, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

The new case total showed the biggest daily jump so far, almost three times Thursday's seven-case increase, according to data posted Friday on the state's web site.

Still no fatalities have been reported.

The 40 to 49 years old age group had 23 - nearly one third - of the county cases, according to state data.

"Older adults (60 & above) or people with underlying health conditions are at higher risk of catching & developing severe forms of #COVID19. To protect yourself & stay healthy during the outbreak," the Warren County Board of Health said in Twitter post after the new data was released.

County officials could not be immediately reached for further comment.

The gender breakdown is now 51 men and 21 women, according to the county’s on-line report.

The state also indicated 10 of Warren County’s confirmed cases are hospitalized, just one more than on Thursday.
