‘Clothes That Work’ needs gowns
What they do: Clothes That Work provides interview appropriate clothing and skills training to men and women seeking employment. The organization also sponsors the Fairy Godmother Project, now in its third year, which gives gowns away to young ladies, allowing them to attend their proms without the stress of figuring out how to pay for the dress and accessories.
What’s needed: Gently used prom and formal gowns, particularly in larger sizes. You can also bring accessories: shoes, bags, jewelry. The group is hoping to be a fairy godmother to 250 girls this year.
Where and When to donate: Items can be dropped off Monday-Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Clothes That Work, 1133 S Edwin C. Moses Blvd., Suite 392. Drop-offs also available at Oakwood Florist, 2313 Far Hills Ave. in Oakwood, and Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 155 E. Thurston Blvd., Oakwood. Deadline is March 10.
This year’s project is being sponsored in connection with another women’s volunteer group, The Links, Inc.
