Zella Cook, along with husband and local farmer Stephen, have been involved with the market since its inception. “I love the bright colors of the produce and flowers, and the delicious smells of the kettle corn and freshly roasted coffee beans,” Cook, the market manager said in a press release. “Customers are often surprised by our variety and our reasonable prices, and are glad to have the opportunity to ‘buy local.’”

Located in the Shiloh Church parking lot at the intersection of North Main Street and Philadelphia Drive, the market serves downtown as well as the local suburbs. “While we’re only a 10-minute drive from downtown Dayton,” Cook explains, “we’re also well positioned to serve residents in the ‘food desert’ in areas north and west of downtown.”

Since 2014, the market has accepted EBT/SNAP benefits and continues to offer free Produce Perks of $1 for every $1 EBT/SNAP purchase (up to $20) to help stretch those benefits.
