Definition of myopic should include Gottlieb

Re “Absurd lies moving to the center of things political,” Aug. 7: Every time I read an opinion piece from Martin Gottlieb, I thank God that he has not been spirited away by The New York Times. His latest piece concerning the “birthers” reinforced my opinion as to how blessed we are to have him in Dayton.

Seriously, if I looked in the dictionary under myopic, I might find Gottlieb’s name as part of the definition.

As to his “birthers” piece, I am 100 percent convinced that President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii. No doubt in my mind. What bothers me greatly is why a man who says he wants to unite us won’t release the requested information to shut these people up. Can anyone say politics as usual, as opposed to change? This is not the action of a uniter.

If Gottlieb practiced objective thinking, as opposed to biased thinking, he could have included my point. That he didn’t tells me all I need to know about him.
