You can find nightlife, shopping and all kinds of fun in the city's center, but downtown Dayton is far from the only local "downtown" worth a visit. Here are four more.
SHOPS OF OAKWOOD
Posted by Gamine on Wednesday, September 21, 2016
There is shopping, dining and a Dorothy Lane Market in what most would consider Oakwood's downtown.
Grab an espresso at Starbucks, high tea at Central Perc European Cafe, or a sundae at Graeter's Ice Cream.
Stop into one of the many Shops of Oakwood, including The Flower Shoppe (they have hats from Rike's), Blue Turtle Toys, Gamine, Whisper Home, Chico's, or newcomer Wild Poppy, to name a few.
Grab a Manhattan or steak (better yet, grab a Manhattan and a steak) at the Oakwood Club or a sandwich at Flyboy's Deli.

Madame Delluc Artisan Chocolatier will satisfy your sweet tooth.
If that's not enough for you, there are even more stores a few blocks away on Park Avenue, including The Little Exchange. The shop's sales benefit Dayton Children's Hospital.
DOWNTOWN YELLOW SPRINGS

Eclectic, chill and oh-so-cool are three ways to describe downtown Yellow Springs.
The village might be relatively small, but it is teeming with unique places to eat. Those spots include Ha Ha Pizza, Ye Olde Trail Tavern, The Winds Cafe, Peach's Grill, Sunrise Cafe, Aleta's Cafe, and Current Cuisine.

You'll find unique items for sale in stores like Asanda Imports, Dark Star Books, Urban Handmade, Mr. Fub's Party Toys and Tibet Bazaar.
Catch an art house film at the Little Art Theatre and turn in for the night at the recently-completed Mills Park Hotel.
Yellow Springs Brewery is just a short distance away.
If you are lucky, you might even run into comedian Dave Chappelle or one of his celebrity friends. They can't get enough of Dino's Cappuccinos.

As anyone who has ever been to the Strawberry Festival knows, downtown Troy is oozing with charm.
There are also plenty of places to get a great meal, like Basil's on Market, La Piazza and The Caroline.
Mojo's Bar & Grille has a friendly staff and good craft beer list (the pub gets its name from a dog named Mojo, and it holds benefits to help needy animals).

DOWNTOWN MIAMISBURG
Pork belly tacos with housemade pepper jelly and crispy veg relish. Yum!

Talk about a downtown with spunk.
One could easily spend the day and night visiting downtown restaurants and pubs in Miamisburg, Ohio's "Star City."
There is even a new jazz club, the Blue Note Bistro & Lounge.
New life was breathed into the Historic Plaza Theatre on Christmas Day 2015 when it was reopened. Movie tickets are just $5 to see a classic movie.
That will hopefully leave you with plenty of money to visit to a restaurant or two. The Miamisburg TJ Chumps has one of the best patios in the Dayton area.

Grab a burger at the famed Hamburger Wagon, a pie at Ron's Pizza House, a cone at 3 Dips Ice Cream Shoppe, and a beer at Star City Brewing Company.
Eat, drink, and be merry at Bullwinkle's Top Hat.
Chef Maria Walusis will no doubt serve you something different and delicious at Nibbles Restaurant and Catering.
