United Way’s Volunteer Connection

Life Essentials is seeking volunteers to assist with donating items for their Christmas celebration. Items being collected include coin purses, scarves, gloves, warm hats, slippers with nonslip soles, shampoo, soap, deodorant, undershirts, pajamas/gowns, belts, wallets and T-shirts for men. Stationery items are also being collected, such as envelopes, cards, address books, calendars, pads of lined paper, pens or pencils, journals and crossword puzzles/word finds. United Rehabilitation Services (URS) is seeking volunteers to help out at the Artistry in Wood event put on by the Dayton Carvers Guild on Nov. 10-11 at the Airport Expo Center. Volunteers are needed to help out by working two-hour shifts at the URS informational table and coatcheck area, or to do the raffle ticket sales at this wonderful Wood Carving and Woodworking Show. Proceeds from this event benefit adults and children with disabilities and special needs in the Greater Dayton area. St. Vincent de Paul Social Services is seeking volunteers to serve lunch or dinner. Volunteers will take direction from the guest attendant or kitchen attendant on duty. Volunteers serve previously prepared and planned dinner to the guests and clean up afterward.
